The objective of the design is to reduce the flood risks and increase the safety with investments utilising best practices of flood protection along the Tisza and Danube rivers as well as along their tributaries.
An additional objective is to utilise rivers in an environmentally friendly way; economical and social development of areas endangered by floods and implementing the necessary infrastructural investments in a safe way. As a result of these improvements the safety of the settlements affected by flooding will be significantly increased.
