The Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (acib) bundles the expertise of key researchers from seven Austrian universities in the multiple disciplines of industrial biotechnology and bioengineering. The centre wants to be the preferred partner for competitive research in industrial biotechnology, focused on biocatalysis, enzymes and (pharmaceutical) protein production.

UD is one of the five Hungarian universities that have been awarded the prestigious ‘Research University’ title by the Ministry of Education. The Biological Research Centre (BRC), Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Szeged is an outstanding institution of the internationally acknowledged Hungarian biological research. Semmelweis University’s history started more than 240 years ago in 1769, when Queen Maria Theresa added a medical faculty to the University of Nagyszombat. Named in honour of Ignác Semmelweis, the revolutionary 19th century obstetrician also known as “the saviour of mothers”. The university employs aroun 7,500 people, education more than 10,000 students.
